About Mum and Baby Yoga classes
Mum and Baby Yoga is extremely supportive, restorative, nurturing and relaxing for you and your baby following birth and during the postnatal period, best attended when your baby is approximately 6 weeks to 6 months (or until your baby is crawling).
These classes are a very special way to spend quality time with each other during this very special (yet often challenging) postnatal period, giving you both the opportunity to massage, relax, breathe, play, move and stretch together.
They offer a unique blend of developmental baby massage and movement for your baby, and postnatal yoga for you. (More details on these elements further down the page).
There is also time for tea and biscuits, and supportive discussion with Pippa and other mums in the class.
Numbers are limited, and classes are flexible so that your baby can feed, sleep or interact with you as necessary.
Awareness and toning of your pelvic floor and core muscles will gradually enable you to regain flexibility and strength.
Experiencing healthy breathing and relaxation helps to support you while you adapt physically and emotionally to caring for a new baby. It can also help to restore energy, relieve stress and promote a positive outlook.
Simply being somewhere calm and relaxing with other mums can be a tremendous support.
Postnatal Yoga is gentle and specifically designed to meet your needs as a new mum, enabling you to exercise safely, whilst returning alignment to your body following pregnancy and birth.
Postnatal Yoga is incorporated into Mum and Baby Yoga
classes and often mums like to attend that class first (your baby can
feed, sleep or interact with you as necessary in a relaxed environment),
then move on to Mum's Only evening yoga when babies are too wriggly for massage.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to then have the time and space to look after yourself, to truly relax and have that much-needed "me time"!

Developmental Baby Massage and Movement
Babies most developed senses at birth are touch and movement, and they thrive on loving touch and interaction.
By learning early sensory, massage and holding techniques you will soothe and bond with your baby when they are young. You will also be stimulating (and therefore helping to develop) their circulatory, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and immune systems, as well as their brain development and emotional health.
As your baby grows additional massage, yoga techniques, postures and movements will help develop baby's strength, fine motor skills, independence, co-ordination, flexibility and confidence.
Natural, organic massage oil is provided. Please dress comfortably and bring a bath towel. Baby Massage is included in Mum and Baby Yoga classes and Dads/Family Baby Massage classes (private bookings also available).

About Dads / Family Baby Massage and Movement Classes
Special Developmental Baby Massage and Movement class for babies and their fathers and other family members are held bi-monthly on Sundays.
Massage, movement and relaxation consist of practical and emotional aspects that can greatly enhance a father's relationship with their baby, to experience a fabulous way of sharing in parental care, gain confidence and get to know each other.
This class offers fathers (or another family member close to the baby) a fantastic opportunity to relax and have fun with your baby, whilst helping to increase their independence, flexibility, strength and confidence as they grow. Also learn calming and holding techniques, and strengthen the bond, connection and understanding between you.
Mums are of course also welcome to come along if they wish, and relax while partners massage and bond with the babies.

Baby Yoga +
Baby Yoga classes - for older babies, from sitting (or getting that way) to walking - are fun and interactive. They build on what has already been learned in Baby Massage and Movement (though not a prerequisite), and incorporate healthy yoga postures and movements, dry massage (over clothes), songs and sensory play.
Babies love this class! They love being together and enjoy the yoga which helps to develop their sense of independence, and increase flexibility and strength, in a fun and relaxed environment.
Classes also include toning exercise and a drink for parents.
This class is ideal for those whose babies are too mobile for Mum and Baby Yoga and Baby Massage classes.
Private postnatal/baby massage sessions
Available in the comfort of your own home, these sessions are especially useful for newborns too young to join the classes, babies with special needs, or for mums unable to attend classes at other times, but still want to learn techniques to benefit you and your baby.
